All pieces of the puzzle have finally settled – and the previously announced TEDx community event is now open for sign-ups! Here’s how it’s going to work:
On December 1st (next Thursday) at 4 PM we’re taking over Karriere Bar in the meatpacking district of Copenhagen. A veritable pop-up space for meeting and mingling with likeminded TEDsters, we’ve also scheduled 3 hours of inspiration and collective action: One TEDx speaker, two TED videos and some workshopping to inspire each other and – most importantly – collectively shape the foundation of TEDxCopenhagen 2012.
To keep our engines going the good people of Karriere Bar will be serving some reasonably priced organic sausages, warm glögg and cold drinks.
Now for the sign-up: We have room for 100 inspired TEDsters and participation is free, but we kindly ask you to sign up using this form, so we get an idea of who’s coming.
There’s also a Facebook event to share – but the official list of attendance is the list of people who have signed up using our official sign-up form so be sure to use that.
On Wedneday we’ll send out a confirmation e-mail with the final details to everyone who’ve signed up.
And by the way: We welcome monetary sponsorships of all shapes and sizes! Not to boost our personal fortunes but to give back to the TEDx community and make this event extra special with sprinkles on top. Please contact us if you feel kind and generous.
Yes, there WILL be a TEDx event in Copenhagen in 2011 – and you’re invited to help us make it happen!
For some months we’ve been meeting, planning the future of TEDxCopenhagen. (We being the team from last year + a couple of new and inspired TEDsters.)
Our collective ambitions haven’t diminished since the wrap up of the 2010 event at Pressens Hus. However, the new year is approaching fast and we’ve decided to go with a slightly different 2011 event than initially planned. One that’s primed to engage you – the Copenhagen TED community – in prepping for a royal grand scale edition of TEDxCopenhagen in the first half of 2012. Who’s with us?!
For now you should book the afternoon of December 1 for a TEDxCopenhagen 2011 meet-up. We’ll serve up some great TED inspiration and offer some food – for thought as well as tastebuds. Besides that we’ll ask you to reflect in groups on how TEDxCopenhagen 2012 could develop. Share your ideas and help us pave the way for a truly great event in 2012.
Sign-up process and further details about the 2011 event will be in place within the next couple of weeks. However there’s one thing you might help us with already – and a quite important one to be frank:
We still need a venue for the TEDxCopenagen 2011 community event on December 1. Are you the manager of a great place that will accommodate 150 inspired people? Or do you know just who to ask? Then please let us know!
